With the holiday season coming up, everyone is trying to save a bit of money when buying gifts for someone they love or even for themselves. Below are 5 websites that I use to help me save money doing everyday shopping.
1. Rakuten
Rakuten is Japan’s biggest eCommerce website. You probably have heard of them through basketball as they are one of the Golden State Warrior’s main sponsors. This website directs you to over 2,500 different stores and will allow you to earn cash back on your Rakuten account whenever you make a purchase on the store’s website. Stores pay Rakuten a commission for sending you their way, and Rakuten shares the commission with you as Cash Back. Whenever you are ready you can cash out your Cash Back through a check or a PayPal payment every quarter with no fees and no forms.
2. SlickDeals
Slickdeals is a deal sharing site where users can submit deals they find. Other users can vote on the deals they like, and editors curate deals to show up on the main page. You can find deals on a wide variety of products, entertainment, and travel. I have personally found great deals on 4k computer monitors, running shoes, and even flights around the world!
3. EyeBuyDirect or Zenni Optical

Whether you are looking for eyeglasses or sunglasses, EyeBuyDirect and Zenni Optical are worth checking out. You’ll find a huge selection of styles and colors as well as popular brands and competitive prices. These companies make quality eyewear accessible to anyone. Before you get ready to place your order, make sure that you have a valid prescription nearby. In addition, you may be able to use a coupon code on their websites to cash in on even more savings.
4. Camel Camel Camel
Camel Camel Camel is a free Amazon price tracker that is available for anyone to use. All you need to do is copy and paste the item’s Amazon url link into the search bar and Camel Camel Camel will show you the current price as well as Amazon’s price history in chart format. This will help you see if you are getting the best deal available or if you might want to wait for the price to drop even more. One great feature is that the website will alert you via email when the price drops to your specified price target.
5. Groupon
Groupon is a great online deals site that offers deep discounts on restaurants, products, hotels, and more. I’ve used Groupon for restaurant deals as well as for booking a round trip boat ride from Newport Beach to Catalina for only $44! I can personally say that I had a great day trip with friends that did not break the bank. Some other great deals that I’ve found are Valvoline’s full synthetic oil change for $49.50 (original price of $98.99) and a onetime pottery class for $40 per person (original price of $87.50). This could be a great date night for less than $100!
